Brice purchased architect Richard Neutra’s avant-garde “Plywood House,” which was built in 1936 as a show house. Originally “exhibited” on Los Angeles’ Miracle Mile, the building was relocated to Brentwood before Brice purchased it. Brice immediately added a studio constructed by a Neutra associate; although approximate to his home, it was not a place where others were welcome. The home became a hub for the Brices’ vibrant social life, while Brice considered his studio a private space.
